Ditch the fireworks and the parades! The US was built on genocide and we ain't celebrating that. Instead, come roll with us as we ride around town playing music by Indigenous artists. Let's remind those we pass that this is still stolen land, and no amount of shitty beer and floppy weiners are gonna make the injustices disappear. We'll throw some Iranian, Palestinian, and Cuban music in the mix as well to represent people abroad who are currently being bombed, starved, and displaced by the United States. We'll end with an anti-imperialist cookout at Fernhill park, hosted by Portland Action For Cuba. Bring $$ for games and food (vegan and gluten-free options available). All money raised will go towards delivering material aid directly to Cuban people who are suffering immensely under a US blockade. No one turned away for lack of funds! Park games like frisbees and cornhole are also appreciated– bring 'em if you got 'em! Just because we're grouchy anti-imperialists doesn't mean we CAN'T HAVE FUN! Ride meets at Laurelhurst at 3:45, rolls out by 4:00, and should arrive at Fernhill Park by 5. Easy pace, under 8 miles. If you miss the ride, you can still show up for the cookout anytime from 5-8.
