Last-minute for sure, but join if you catch this! Biking downtown Sunday to be part of one or more of the rallies against racist hate that have been set up in defiance of the racist 'alt-right' rally, which takes place at Terry Schrunk Plaza. Logistics: Biking together over the Burnside Bridge. Since the rallies are at staggered times/locations, and there is likely to be a large crowd, I may stay with my bike but others may simply choose to bike across the river together. We can discuss our plan! There are 3 different groups hosting anti-racist rallies downtown and an event at Dawson Park at 1pm. Bikin' Betties is an all-ladies bike ride on Monday nights. It's a great way to meet fellow female cyclists, get a workout, learn bike routes around our city, and become more skilled and confident on our bikes. Anyone who identifies as a woman is welcome. (Boys, you know we love you, but every now and then we need our lady-time. Thanks for respecting us and letting us do this ride without you).

What's an impromptu ride? Your guess is as good as mine. There may be drinking, or perhaps there won't (although we are starting at a bar). It may be a long ride, but probably not (or possibly yes). We'll just have to figure it out as we go.

I don't promise this will be fun, but it will be a good workout. 10 miles of riding with many staircase climbs thrown in along the length of the Alameda ridge. Probably similar to last year's All-ameda ridge, but less professional. Bike scum welcome. Due to the intensity & variable nature of ability, this will be a drop-possible ride, so bring directions, a bike you don't mind carrying a lot, and as little baggage as you're comfortable with. I will probably get dropped first. Strava route here: https://www.strava.com/routes/5212017 or get in touch if you don't Strava. We can compare injuries and times at Velo Cult after the ride.

Tourists come through Portland in a complicated path that must wind past SW 3rd & Ankeny, where a tiny, porny doughnut shop has made an international splash. Rain, 100-degree shine or hail, the tourists fan out from the corner, a dozen or two prize Voodoo Doughnuts held like trophies before them. But Portland has so much more to offer! We're going to discover how it is Portland's legendary tour guides get their fried dough fix. Our ride will experience doughnuts like people who have put in 100s of hours and dollars on their bikes, searching out doughnut shops and testing as many as we could burn off on the way home. Our 3ish-hour bike tour will stop at 3-4 doughnut purveyors with about 12 miles of biking. Bring cash.

Ride the classic 40-Mile Loop as a series of three bike rides, one a week for three weeks during Pedalpalooza. Come on one ride or do all three for the complete loop! This version of the loop is really 51 miles long, as the route has evolved from its original naming over 100 years ago. Each of the three segments is 16 to 18 miles in length, and the segments start and end at MAX stations to eliminate the need to ride to/from the start/end. Following creeks and rivers for most of its length, the loop is flat with no uphill sections. This 1st ride starts at the OMSI/SE Water MAX Orange Line station and follows the Springwater Corridor to the Cleveland Ave MAX Blue Line station in Gresham. Ride #2 is on June 16, and Ride #3 is on June 23 .

We ride until we find a natural end point. Feel free to bail whenever you wanna go somewhere else. Back for its 8th year, Get Lost! is a ride led entirely by chance. Dice are rolled to determine how many blocks to ride, and which direction to turn once we get there (odd total = R, even =L). You never know what to expect. Since we won't be taking designated bike routes riders should be pretty comfortable in semi-hairy conditions, but dangerous or illegal routes will not be traveled. Probably not a loop, but that's what we said the first year, and we (eerily) ended up in the exact place we started! Read about that year's ride here: http://bit.ly/2qY2TmQ

Cargo bike lovers unite! Something we hear often when trying to promote cycling as a primary means of transportation is, "but I have young children I need to transport" and "but how will I do my grocery shopping?" These individuals clearly haven't heard the gospel of the cargo bike! Whether you use your bike to transport children or chinchillas, groceries or grommets, let's get together to celebrate this incredibly versitile wheeled-wonder. *A BikeLoudPDX ride* Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/428754697482950

Celebrate the 200th Birthday of the Bicycle. Let's bike, enjoy 3.3 miles of murals in downtown Vancouver, eat chocolate and drink beer. June 12, 1817, Karl Von Drais rolled out onto the streets on his 2-wheeler invention. Got a classic bike? A cruiser? An old old jersey? A fake mustache? A German accent? Let's have a little fun with this ride. Your bike should be in good working order: tires pumped, brakes working and chain oiled. Just in case you get a flat- have what it takes to fix one (a right-sized tube and a means to get air into it). Bike helmets required. Friendly art-lover pace. 23 stops.

This 2nd ride starts at the Cleveland Ave MAX Blue Line and follows separated bikeways along the Columbia River to the Cascades MAX Red Line station. Ride #1 is on June 9, and Ride #3 is on June 23.

Jazz, flowers, veils and coffins: we're memorializing Portland and Oregon traffic deaths Big Easy style. For the talk of Vision Zero, the hard truth is that hundreds of Oregonians and dozens of Portlanders continue to die on our roads every year. This rally 'n' ride event is for all who find this unacceptable! Starts with a march through downtown (so invite your non-cyclist friends) then continues with a short rally followed by a bike ride. Dressing up in your "second line funeral" best is encouraged, but not required. When a Biketown station has too many bikes, or too few, the Biketown team redistributes the bicycles to/from the station by truck. This "jog 'n' ride" aims to do the same thing, but using people power! Make sure you're wearing comfortable clothing and running shoes, because the plan is to jog to a station with too many bikes, check them out, ride them to a nearby station with too few bikes, rinse and repeat. Both the jogging and riding paces will be slow and conversational, and most jog/ride legs will be a mere 1/4 to 3/4 of a mile. It is highly recommended that you pre-purchase either a Biketown annual subscription or day pass. Not affiliated with Biketown, just a fan.

This 3rd ride starts at the Cascades MAX Red Line station and follows dedicated bikeways through PDX and along the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Ride #1 is on June 9, and Ride #2 is on June 16

Back by popular demand! Riding in protest of the pavement allocation status quo, we demand more space for people, less space for machines! Four-lane roads create too many distractions for drivers and impede visibility. Crossing four-lane roads as a pedestrian or cyclist, even legally, is hazardous. The extra lanes should be used for bike lanes, bus-only lanes, parklets, wider sidewalks, anything but vehicle lanes. No more four-lane roads! This ride is not for children and first-time cyclists; we will ride safely, but will be taking the lane on major arterial streets during rush hour. *A BikeLoudPDX ride* Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/236797533475384

This a meet and greet for people signed up for the Seattle to Portland ride on July 15-16 (and/or fans and supporters!). Let's get acquainted with others bold enough to be doing this crazy event! Promptly at 1:45 I'll lead an icebreaker and round of questions to introduce everyone and find out reasons for riding/experience. We can then informally discuss carpooling to Seattle, mid-ride camping in Centralia, and possibly training rides. No ride organized, just lunch outside at the food trucks (get there early to buy yours and bring it over) in the wonderful PNW summer, and the opportunity to recognize a few faces as we are plowing thru the 203 mile trek! Maybe we can even discuss post-race massage trade :)

We ride when when our bikes look fabulous!
3:00 PM
Bike decorating and bike riding! (All humanpowered-wheels welcome ie scooters, boards, trikes!) We are excited to host a balloonarific family friendly bike parade!! We WILL have a supply of balloons for decoration but please bring some more if you'd like--or tips$ for twisters. Lippman Co. is just 2 blocks away for supplies if you need. We'll start at Eastside & Salmon, head north to cross the Steel Bridge, around the round-a-bout on the other side at Waterfront Park, and then back. Ride is 3 miles. Young able riders encouraged to ride but must be accompanied by a guardian. When the ride is complete if riders wish to keep going we can ride south past OMSI and over the Tilikum for fun too! Bring water and Tunes. Party on!

Roll at 3:15
Remember when Portland was full of activists, bohemians, artists and musicians? When Pedalpalooza rides happened in the morning and afternoon on weekdays? http://www.shift2bikes.org/cal/viewpp2009.php We'll roll like it's 2009 -- calling all stay-at-home parents, slacktivists, disabled, underemployed, and other non 9-5ers. We'll roll around for 2 hours and visit at least one playground, at least one coffee shop, and a few other places. Ends at 5:30 at Ladd Circle

Ride starts exactly at 5:42pm and lasts for three minutes
Ride your bike around the Ladds Addition traffic circle ringing your bell. Everyone is invited to join! All you need is a bike, a bell, and a smile. Perfect warm up for the Wind Chime ride. The original Ding Ding ride is on Wednesday, but I can't make that one and someone already moved a ride to make this one.

Gather at 5:30, depart at 5:45 (after the Ding-Ding ride ends)
Group ride from Inner SE to PCC Southeast for PBOT's Safety Action Plan for Outer SE Division Street Open House. Why waste the 2nd to last evening of Pedalpalooza by going to a city-hosted open house instead of something that sounds more... um... fun? Because this is your best chance to tell PBOT & TriMet what you want the 5 miles of Outer Division (SE 82nd to city limits) to look like (and have them actually listen). Come advocate for protected bike lanes, bus-only lanes, improved pedestrian crossings, and more. Dinner provided! And you'll totes make it back in time for all the 7pm and later rides. *A BikeLoudPDX ride* Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1408362762555972

A classy type of picnic ride. Leave your ratty t-shirt, cutoffs, and "I just ran to the store" chips and hummus for ANOTHER picnic ride, this one is about stepping it up. Dress up nicely (you don't have to be super-fancy, but it wouldn't hurt) and think about nice foods and beverages to bring. Blankets and nice picnic setups are good too. Thankfully we start at a classy joint to buy provisions. Ride will be about five miles to a mystery picnic destination. Bring lights and layers, we may be out after dark! And stay classy.
