Riding at a relaxed pace to go see the Cherry Blossoms by the river. We’re about to enter spring and on the fist day of Spring we ride to the Cherry Blossoms. This yearly event harkens the release of the long grey winter and droves of Portlanders swarm to see the blossoms. Riders will be encouraged to point out blooming flowers, yell ‘Good Dog’ when we see a dog, ‘CAT’ when we see a cat and to do the honk your arm gesture when we see Trimet or 18 wheelers. We’ve a set playlist which is Japanese City Pop, a glorious groovy vibe that blends RnB/Funk/Disco/Soul through highly skilled muscians. In part this is to honor the significance of Cherry Blossoms in Japanese culture. We will also pause at the Japanese Memorial. Route is going to be relaxed and slow paved and geared towards being family and skate friendly. There will be a store stop for safe clean bathroom access and for people to grab snacks. As with all our rides we ask everyone to practice consent and non-violence. Please be calm and respectful when corking and interacting with drivers. Welcome to Mellow Mondays 2026. Are you interested in leading a ride? This is a supportive and organized way to lead for the first time. Every week there’s different themes but there are constants…. Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

This is a public meeting of the Shift2Bikes.org board of directors. All are welcome to join our meetings but voting is reserved for members of the board. Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. For over 20 years, Breakfast on the Bridges has been offering up free coffee and goodies to people biking, walking, scooting and boarding across Portland's bridges. Generally the last Friday of every month, look for our special events during Pedalpalooza and December!

Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Riders should be self sufficient and have a plan for getting themselves home. This is a bicycle-forward group ride. Pedal-assist ebikes are ok (class 1 & 2). Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Be careful of slippery roads/leafs on ground/pot holes. Call out road hazards to help bike friends stay safe. 2nd Fridays are MMR - later night vibes to make it to Midnight Mystery Ride. Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Arrive at PSU Market ~11 am Ride is on every Saturday the market is open (year round except weekend between Christmas and New Year). We will make every effort to note weather-related closures here promptly.

Come and shop at the End of Winter Bike Swap at Baerlic Brewing! Over 40 vendors, free to shop, 11 AM - 2 PM.

Your Portland Thorns host the Kansas City Current at 1 PM. (Please note this ride will pass near the No Kings rally) We will gather at Baerlic (co-located with Ranch Pizza. Ranch is mentioned to show two events nearly co-located on the Shift map) when it opens and check out the cool Bike Swap stuff. We'll depart promptly at 11:59 am to allow plenty of time for any delays or detours, and to find a staple at Providence Park. If you're new to group rides in Portland, or to Thorns match attendance, please see one of the folks with the (pictured) 2-star pennant and we will make sure you feel welcome and prepared. Have a fun and exciting 34 mile ride for y'all. There will be all sorts of terrain and sites, challenges, and a food stop on the route. 28mm tires will work but there may be a short section of chunk rock that is less than 1/8 mile. Route claims about 1,500 feet of elevation but it is a challenging route and most of the climbing is in the beginning. Lots of new development going on in the area and it is interesting to ride through some of the old stuff and see how the two merge. Very excited for the route. We meet up every other Tuesday. We ride in the Southeast Portland we have food carts and a beer tent at the start of the ride. And we go somewhere and generally have a fire. As a great close-knit ride open to you . i promise to make you dance like idot and celebrate your night.So be kind to all travlers , bring your friends, and optimism.
