Ride is a loop
***Noting this event is being pushed 1 week due to road conditions in Gifford Pinchot being less-than-ideal. Warm temps should clear things up, will update if needed :) Hey there! Seltzer Squad Riding League is a weekly meetup of bike nerds, teetotal randonneurs, and their friends. Moderately paced, with any given week ranging from 20-some miles to a hidden local pathway, or 50+ out pounding gravel in The Dalles. Our rides are social and 100% no drop, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity and exploration and fun with whoever shows up, any given ride! Ours is simply an alcohol-free event ending in picnics and coffee (and weird little delis) rather than beers at the bar. For more information on the club, or to see our ride calendar, please see: https://www.strava.com/clubs/selter-squad-pdx Next out-of-towner on deck: Overnight! To participate in Swift's Campout event (link included below), here's a really fun little route through some of the best of Gifford Pinchot. Sights include, but not limited to: Caves! Huckleberries! Lava Beds! Beautiful meadows! Meetup is 11:00am at Crosscut Espresso & Deli in Carson, WA. There, we'll finalize plans and group up before driving into Gifford Pinchot, parking at the Goose Lake Campground. As a self-supported overnighter, please be sure to come equipped with the regular assortment of tools and tubes, as well as everything you need to camp (think: tent/ bivvy, food, water, etc.). There are a few water fill-up spots along the way, but everything else must be brought in and back out. That said, this is an excellent one to invite your non-bike but camp-friendly people out to, since where we'll be camping is plenty accessible for most cars! The ride itself is just gorgeous and, ultimately, pleasant. It's also a pretty popular route, so we'll likely be one of several groups out bopping the fire roads. We'll camp in the meadows high up after some punchy climbs around mile 25 or so, then roll on back down after coffee & breakfast. As usual, should anyone need to coordinate bike and/ or person hauling, please let me know and we'll see that everyone's got a way there! This one's a ton of fun, hope y'all make it out :) https://swiftcampout.com/ Full ride details, including map at: https://www.strava.com/clubs/1008997/group_events/1165081
