Punctual roll time 10:30am
Let's ride bikes and go swimming! Please take a minute to read the below information to ensure maximum fun. Please stay behind the ride leader. We'll be riding at around 8-10mph, slower when climbing, with several regroup stops. If you're a super strong, fast rider, congratulations! This will be a great opportunity for you to practice patience and show you're skilled enough to ride slower than your preferred pace. If you are unable to stay behind the ride leader, this is not the ride for you. We will roll out punctually at 10:30am. We'll ride 5 miles (and up a nice sized hill!) to a public outdoor pool (BRING $6 CASH FOR ENTRY). Summertime at a public outdoor pool means it will be crowded and there will be a line. After the pool, we'll ride 5 miles (much of it downhill!) to a public beach on the Willamette River. After splashing around a bit, we'll ride another 5 miles to a secret swim hole. Don't ask me where the secret swim hole is, just come and you will see! To get back to where we started, you can take the Trolley Trail and Springwater, about 10 miles, or hop the Orange Line MAX. You will need: * $6 cash for pool entry (CASH!) * towel * swimsuit * sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat * bike lock * snacks/drinks for the day * a positive attitude The public pool entry is $6. There’s always a line and PAYING WITH CASH IS QUICKER. There's no shade at the spot where we wait in line. The pool will likely be crowded and there’ll be lotsa kids and families there. We will only be stopping at swim spots, no stores or cafes. There is a snack bar at the public pool where we swim first and there's a public restroom and water fountain at the public beach. If you are riding an e-bike, please be aware this ride is longer and harder than many Pedalpalooza rides, so your battery may not last all day. Rules (which you agree to follow just by showing up!): 1) no complaining 2) stay behind the ride leader 3) don't sue me
