The mission of the Beaverton Arts Commission is to enhance, unite, and celebrate our diverse community through art. Much of this art is out in our community in Central Beaverton, so let’s hop on our bikes or scooters and take a tour of over 15 murals and sculptures! This ride will be under 3 miles long and is suitable for most ages, though we will be crossing a few busy streets, so being able to ride unassisted is mandatory. There will be a lot of stopping as we share information about selected public art and the artists who made it. We will start in the plaza outside City Hall and wend our way around Central Beaverton before finishing the tour at Beaverton City Park. If you’re feeling thirsty, you can join us for post-ride refreshments and discussion at the local business Fly Chai. If you need assistance getting back to City Hall, we will ensure you can return safely. This ride is produced in partnership between the Beaverton Arts Commission, Ride Westside, and the Bicycle Advisory Committee for the City of Beaverton Beaverton Arts Commission https://www.beavertonoregon.gov/beaverton-arts-commission Public Art Collection https://www.beavertonoregon.gov/public-art-collection Some of the murals in Beaverton https://www.beavertonoregon.gov/murals Interactive map of the route we will take https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55703040 Event art by Everett Liddle https://everettliddle.com/
