** Route Update 7/31 ** Because the Hawthorne Bridge has been experiencing closure between 6am-6pm each day this week we have changed the route to potentially avoid it. Salmon St Fountain is our "midway" stop so will be checking on the status of the bridge at that time, and if we can make the crossing then we will revert back to the old route. Colors of the world - spice up your bike! Slam it to the left if you’re having a good time, and shake it to the beat of the Spice Girls with a fabulous group of cyclists. Zig-a-zig aaaaall over Portland to your favorite 90's bops. PLEASE BRING WATER / BEVERAGES! It may be a warm one, so come prepared with hydration. Bring a bandana to soak with water for your neck. No store stops - just a bathroom break; so be sure to bring all the water, sunscreen, and snacks you’ll want. ROUTE MAP on RIDE WITH GPS (Link Below!): - Ends at the Back Door Theater for a screening the Spice World Movie! (Behind Common Grounds Coffee.) HUGE thanks to FUSE Theatre Ensemble for donating the space. Ramblin' Rose Ice Cream will be there selling some Vegan GF drumsticks while supplies last. ** This is not a sober ride, but we ask folks to imbibe responsibly for the safety of everyone. ** We aim to create a supportive and safer space for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC folks. Sketchy folks, phobic remarks, or unsupportive behavior of any sort will not be tolerated. Please do not take pictures, film, or touch others without their consent. Remember - consent must be verbal and "no" is a complete answer. BANNED RIDERS: If you are banned from any rides, you are also banned from this ride. Smart glasses (Meta/Google/Whatever) are not allowed on this ride. DJ bikes and BIG speakers encouraged! Playlist linked below via Tidal. Not a fan of Spotify, but the service does offer a convenient way to link our speakers in a "Jam." I'll be utilizing this feature to link speakers if folks would like to. Not syncing with the Jam? All I ask is that you limit the music to the Spice Girls only, and that you turn down your music when it conflicts with a louder speaker (you can turn it back up when it doesn't.) Corking is Community Care: We encourage folks who like to cork to join this ride and help make it a success. We also strongly encourage people who are cork-curious to join in and try it out. We keep us safe, and we never escalate aggressive drivers - keep it kind.
