The NE/SE 50s Bikeway was recently completed providing a new North-South bike route mostly on 52nd and 53rd Avenues. This can be combined with the slightly older 80s Bikeway to form a 14-mile in-the-city loop entirely on neighborhood or bike-laned streets with no difficult road crossings. Since this is a Pedalpalooza event, feel free to come dressed for either the 1950s or the 1980s decade! The ride is predominantly flat, looping nicely around Mt. Tabor situated in the middle of the route.

Length: 21 miles Lights: Yes! Helmets Highly Recommended (We may/may not ride through Vancouver) Terrain: mostly flat, 1 very short steep hill. Beer?: If you'd like, NOT required. Share-It Square was the first intersection repair in the world. It's also one of the only in Portland that changes it's image every year. This year's design was inspired by several themes important to the neighborhood over the past year. It was a turbulent year for many living near the square, with many people having near death illnesses or injuries, so this year's design is largely about regeneration, healing, and the way our lives weave together through it all.

Let's take our outmoded vehicles and visit all the anachronistic purveyors of LPs, browse through the bins, and take home some sweet sounds for our hifis. We'll ride as long as people are interested
The geography and demographics of Portland are changing rapidly. With these changes come widening wealth inequality, dramatic increases in housing costs, increased traffic, and widespread feelings that city council is not doing enough to protect residents.Join me for a leisurely ride where I will talk about some of my ideas for protecting residents and increasing meaningful community involvement in policy and decision making. More importantly, I want to hear what you would like to see out of a city council candidate so we can build a platform together from grassroots.

Join our urban ramble! Meet @ 4, we'll roll around 4:30. Bring your own picnic/drinks if you want. We'll also stop midway for a bit and at the end to enjoy some more nibbles/slurps. Each stop will provide an opportunity to buy more food/drink supplies if you need. It'll be a slow cruise through a bunch of the alleys clustered in the N/NE, avoiding the main streets as much as possible. We'll stick with the alleys that are very passable--so no mountain bikes required. The ride will casually wander about, allowing you to observe art on walls that you never knew existed, and magically transport yourself to parks within inner NE to relax. Note, this is NOT an alley CAT. Just an alley exploration. :) FB Event Page: http://on.fb.me/1Mcmy6S

This ride is challenging! Total loop length is 22 miles with jump off possibilities at beginning and end of the ride, but not for 10 miles in middle.

We ride until we find a natural end point. Feel free to bail whenever you wanna go somewhere else. Back for its 6th year, Get Lost! is a ride led entirely by chance. Dice are rolled to determine how many blocks to ride, and which direction to turn once we get there (Odd total =R, Even =L). You never know what to expect. Since we won't be taking designated bike routes riders should be pretty comfortable in semi-hairy conditions, but dangerous or illegal routes will not be traveled. Probably not a loop, but that's what we said the first year, and we (eerily) ended up in the exact place we started! Read about that year's ride here: http://bit.ly/eDaPZW Hey AMOS. If you want to co-lead this ride please join us!

Inner eastside Portland is booming with large-scale multi-family construction that will help transform the Central Eastside Industrial Area and Lloyd into neighborhoods. We'll ride between some of these new developments, stopping to learn about bike-friendly amenities, and experience why a new bike/walk-only bridge between these two neighborhoods is high on the wishlist. The ride is a loop, no one is left behind, and we'll obey all rules of the road.

A ride of biblical proportions. Put on your holiest attire and ride with Jesus on a Bike. We're shooting a music video for youtube so that means you're consenting to be in the video by joining the ride. The song was composed by Lee Ellen Reed and Elona Trogub. It's a punk rock interpretation highlighting Jesus as a radical who wanted to bring down the corrupt systems he saw around him. More storytelling, less dogma! Appropriate for all ages. Contact us ahead of time if you have ideas, want to be part of the filming team, or anything else. DINNER PROVIDED! BRING PLATE AND UTENSIL Listen to the track --> https://soundcloud.com/cascadianmycelium/lee-ellen-reed-elona-jesus-on-a-bike

I love monkey puzzle trees! If you'd like to join me, I'm leading a ride, through NoPo, NE and perhaps SE to see some of these beautiful trees. This my third year leading this ride and it's really free form. I will share information with everyone, but I am not an expert, just an admirer. If we have an ambitious group that would like to see more the ride may go longer, but people can always peel off as we go. Hooray!

Americans have been riding bikes for more than a century now. So why are most American cities still so ill-prepared to handle cyclists? James Longhurst, a historian and avid cyclist who is conducting a book tour by bicycle, tackles that question by tracing the contentious debates between American bike riders, motorists, and pedestrians over the shared road.Presented in partnership with the The Bicycle Transportation Alliance

We ride at 6pm!
Taking the Lane, Not Prisoners. This is a ride to protest increasingly unsafe conditions on PDX streets, including those designated as bike routes & neighborhood greenways. The route will include at least one major arterial and one greenway. Ride pace will be slow-moderate, with some stops to "calm" car traffic. We will also be doing a crosswalk enforcement for pedestrian safety at N. Williams and Ivy. While our subject is serious, the ride will be fun (music!). We will meet at Oregon Park to make signs/banners first. BYO assertiveness and sign/banner-making ingredients. Route will be cargo-bike friendly (not too hilly). Approximately 5-7 miles, not a loop. Optional #bikingtobeers at Velocult after the ride.

This is a call for all unicorns, of all ages, in the City of Portland (and beyond) to gather together at our enchanted green patch: the greenery next to the tennis court at Colonel Summers Park. Not everyone will be able to see us, since we are magical beings, but we will be able to see each other! Unicorns barely touch the ground- some even say they merely skim it, so finding the trail of a unicorn is almost impossible! We will go on an adventure: to the top of candy mountain, and back down. Ride as bare as you dare or roll around in sparkles! The shimmery and more glittery, the better. Bike decorations highly encouraged. Meet at 2 to sparkle up, fly out at 2:15. Glitter, sidewalk chalk & dance jams provided!
