Could go late?
Hi, I'm Patrick. I haven't had a summer off in a while, so I saved a bit, bought a van, and quit my job to have the Summer of Patrick. Are you a Patrick, Pat, Patricia, Patty, etc, or friend of one? Help me kick off the Summer of Patrick with some day drinking on a Thursday. Ride meets at the Vera Katz statue on the East Bank Esplanade at 3:00 pm, leaves at 3:20. I'll come with two routes, dive bars or brew pubs, and the Pat's will decide. Expect about 3 stops and 6 miles, this is not a loop. Ride responsibly and bring what you need to ride safe and cash, it's easier. This ride ends...?

Join our urban ramble! Meet in North Portland (bring cash for a drink if you want), we'll roll out around 6:15. We'll slowly cruise through a bunch of the alleys clustered in the N/NE, avoiding the main streets as much as possible. We'll stick with the alleys that are very passable--so no mountain bikes required. The ride will casually wander about, allowing you to observe backyards you never knew existed, and magically transport yourself to a relaxing establishment in inner NE. Note, this is NOT an alley CAT. Just an alley exploration. :) https://www.facebook.com/events/1451360658443375/

Check us out on Facebook for more info. Bike Polo is pretty simple. To play, choose two teams of three, get to your respective goal lines with the ball in the middle of the court, sprint to the ball, and try your darndest to score a goal. Once you score, go back to half court and wait for the ball to enter play by crossing the goal line. Play to five goals. We are always looking for new players, so come on out

"Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you But in your dreams whatever they be Dream a little dream of me" The overall theme for ride is melodic pop music from the sixties and seventies. We'll ride to the sounds of sunshine pop, baroque pop, bubblegum, folk, rock and roll, british invasion, country music, and a bit of power pop. Join us if you like sweet melodies, harmonized vocals, excellent songwriting, and the occasional absolutely ridiculous novelty song. Rain or shine (but check the event page just in case).

Start with regular frisbee (bring one if you've got one), show up ready to toss at Peninsula Park. We'll likely show up early to enjoy the park and some tossin' - but we definitely plan to be there by 6pm, aiming to leave sometime after 6:15pm. We'll bike to Pier Park up in North Portland. Get your disc golf on there (be sure to bring your own discs)! Play as long as you want. The ride ends there, so plan your own route back and be sure to bring bike lights. We aren't pros by any means - we just like to toss discs in the woods. FB Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/857466484269191/

Come see some of the places where movies (obth well known and obscure) were filmed. Some of the scenes we'll be visiting: fiery car crash on a bridge, a robbery, menacing of innocent tavern owners, coffee shop love. As Binx Bolling said: "...More than likely he will live there sadly and the emptiness which is inside him will expand until it evacuates the entire neighborhood. But if he sees a movie which shows his very neighborhood, it becomes possible for him to live, for a time at least, as a person who is Somewhere and not Anywhere."

Let's explore our city by bike without a plan and see what kind of fun, insights, and mischief we can uncover. Come with an open mind, no expectations, curiosity and a desire only for unique experience. Perhaps we can read from Knabb's "Situationist International Anthology" if the geist moves us. "In a dérive one or more persons during a certain period drop their usual motives for movement and action, their relations, their work and leisure activities, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there..." - Ken Knabb

One of the best parts of bike camping and touring is making meals. Here's a chance to do that without actually going camping! Please note: camping stove required, not a grill/hibachi. (There's another ride for that.) No dehydrated/"instant" meals that you bought at REI. And if it's wet, we'll end up somewhere covered.

We ride until we find a natural end point. Feel free to bail whenever you wanna go somewhere else.
Back for its 5th year, Get Lost! is a ride led entirely by chance. Dice are rolled to determine how many blocks to ride, and which direction to turn once we get there (Odd total =R, Even =L). You never know what to expect. Since we won't be taking designated bike routes riders should be pretty comfortable in semi-hairy conditions, but dangerous or illegal routes will not be traveled. Probably not a loop, but that's what we said the first year, and we (eerily) ended up in the exact place we started! Read about that year's ride here: http://bit.ly/eDaPZW

Atlanta has Interstate 285. Columbus has Interstate 270. Minneapolis has 494/694. But the Portland metro area doesn't have a huge encircling freeway. It has the Inner Loop. You might know the Inner Loop as the SteelBridgeAndBackOverTheHawthorne or as TheEastbankEsplanadeAndWaterfrontPark. But it's not two different public works projects any more. It's a thing of its own - and it deserves its own name. Whether you've ridden around Portland's downtown waterfront a thousand times or don't get over there much, take this quick ride as a chance to see the Inner Loop as a unified whole.

Downtown needs more north-south bike routes. The Tilikum bridge needs a connection to PSU. Riders thru the Lloyd District need an easier way to cross I-5 and I-84. The Green Loop plan could solve these problems, if it moves from an idea into reality. Explore from the west end of the bridge, along the Park Blocks, over the Broadway bridge and thru the Lloyd district and Eastside district to OMSI. We will show easy changes that can make this a great bike route now, and the long-term plans and goals. http://goo.gl/maps/uJhOY www.facebook.com/events/658107217598200

Last years Tour of Portland went swimmingly. This ride will mimic, The Most Infamous and Contested MMR, of all time! It will be almost, exactly, the same planned route down to figure 8's and tiny gates. Except, among other things, the end point will be at a typical merriment spot on the East side of the river. This is to appease those that despised the end of, The Most Infamous and Contested MMR, of all time! Ride length is roughly 12 reasonably easy miles. A bit technical in places. BYO intoxicants, lights, and firewood.

Did you know that as the ice melts in the Arctic Sea and glaciers in West Antarctica slide into irreversible decline, there are many corporations still happy to drill away with business as usual, profiting from the pollution of drinking water, the fouling of the air, the trampling of the treaty rights of the indigenous peoples of North America, the destruction of regional ecosystems, and the fatal unravelling of the biosphere? You probably knew that. All the more reason to join the Tank of Doom as its specter haunts the NW Portland facilities of these profiteers. We'll go at a slow pace.

Catastrophic climate change is already gripping our planet. But Portland is still clogged with cars, our rivers and rails are highways for fossil fuels, and our air continues to be poisoned by the worst polluters in the country. We have no more chances. Ever wonder why is Portland the whitest large city in the US? Portland and Oregon have a long, ugly history of housing discrimination and segregation, and despite the Fair Housing Act of '68, we still have work to do. Join the Community Cycling Center, the Community Alliance of Tenants, OPAL Environmental Justice Oregon and the Fair Housing Council of Oregon to learn and discuss how the legacies of these policies and practices still shape our communities, neighborhoods and attitudes. Only 25 spots, RSVP required, ride is NOT a loop, and free lunch will be provided!

Hailed as one of Oregon's irreplaceable high-value farming areas, Helvetia is also mighty scenic. Farmers and advocates there have repeatedly engaged in the land use process to protect prime soils from attempted conversions to landfills, freeways, and subdivisions. Join us as we ride by scenic farmland, transit-oriented development, and explore the edge of the Urban Growth Boundary. (And learn what a UGB is and why you love it.) The ride is a 15-mile loop through Helvatia, including a stop at the Helvatia Tavern. Bring money for beer (and, if you want, a legendary burger).

About 200 times the fun of the night time WNBR, since it's 200 times smaller and it happens unannounced to passers-by and it's in the daytime, this legal naked protest ride against fossil fuels is a gentle tour of all 5 quadrants with total nudity encouraged (OK, helmet/shoes/body paint maybe -- please be somewhat nude)! It's like being a casting director where the citizens of Portland are trying out for the part of pleasantly freaked-out neighbors, and everyone gets a role.
