Join the Community Cycling Center to Kickoff Bike Summer! We'll start at the CCC, take the Going Greenway to let folks join up from the King Farmer's Market and continue on to the Bike Summer Pedalpalooza Kickoff Ride at Peninsula Park. Family Friendly, all ages and all skill levels welcome!

Ride bikes together with kids and families, from Colonel Summers Park to Peninsula Park for the start of Pedalpalooza’s Bike Summer Kick-Off ride! This is a moderate paced ride, slow enough for kids on bikes and parents on cargo bikes. We’ll ride 5 miles from the playground and splash pad in Colonel Summers park, to the Peninsula Park, which will be the start of the Pedalpalooza ride a half hour later at 3pm. Our leader is 9 year old Amalie (and her dad Perry)! We will ride at 1:15pm sharp and should arrive at Peninsula Park at about 2:30pm, so you have time pm to pick up t-shirts and pennants, while kids can use the playground or enjoy other activities. Then at 3pm you can also join us if you want to ride at the front of the whole route of the Kick-Off Ride , along with other families and kids. @pedalpaloozapdx has asked us to ride right up front! That ride will be 5 miles long and has several hills, so younger kids may need to switch to a trailer or cargo bike with a grown-up. The kickoff ride will take us through the Lloyd District, and back up down SE Portland to finish the loop. While our ride is 5 miles and and mostly flat and will be fine for grade schooler on their own bikes, if you do the whole loop along with the Kick-Off Ride it will be 10 miles total, so it would be appropriate for 4th grade plus, or younger kids who are strong fast confident riders, to ride their own bike the whole way. Our ride will be suitable for young bike riders who can pedal their own bike uphill in a straight line. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to ride in a straight line without training wheels, start and stop, and follow instructions. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for younger or less confident kids, or in case kids get tired of pedaling. Meet at the playground area on the west side of Colonel Summers park near SE 17th at 6:30 pm and we will head back to North Portland starting at 7:00 pm. Leaving at 7pm from Colonel Summers Park — we will be playing “The Hustle” and that means the ride is gonna start rolling. We will head to the store stop and loop back to Colonel Parks closer to 9pm to pick up any other stragglers that want to ride with us to our dance spot. Chill party pace, 7-9 mph. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. Quick how to lead a ride tutorial before Mellow Mondays ride. Things we’ll cover, Theme creation, Creating the atmosphere you want, Sourcing support, Route planning, Speed, What if’s…… Then QnA. This is meant as a conversation opener and an opportunity to move towards leading your own rides. This will be lead by Moorland with occasional support. Brief Bio: NakedHearts has lead around 350 ish rides, with 100 ish different ride leaders, we’ve worked with local schools, government agencies, festivals, DJ’s, Bands, venues, parades, artist groups of all kinds and supported 100 ish other rides. So we have a little experience. But the all the experience just teaches caring about the ride and riders is what matters, and everything flows from there. For most people that comes naturally. Kiro (who’s only 8 years old) is considered the best ride leader and he cares about the ride and riders and having fun and that’s what makes him the best because that’s his focus. The mechanics of leading and organizing can seem daunting but it’s within reach of all of us.

This ride has music that is peaceful, beautiful and sacred. The voices of women from around the world, from traditional Welsh, Māori, Persian, Costa Rican too modern music of such powerful singers as Nina Simone, Tina Turner, Dechan Shak Dagsay and more. Route will be flowing and easy. This ride is meant as an auspicious chime to bring beauty into the Bike Summer as well as a gentle come down from the previous nights party and a soft introduction for new riders.

This ride will be a comfy slow pace led by a fat girlie! E-bikes welcome! Get ready to relax and stretch in this slow and stretchy yin class. We will explore longer holds and use lots of props to support us in our practice. This is a lovely class to unwind at the end of a busy day. Instructor Bio: Carla Bartow (she/her/hers) I first started practicing yoga as an infant at mommy and me yoga. I became a dedicated practitioner in 2012, while I was living in Upstate New York. I came to vinyasa yoga at that time, when I was training for riding century bike rides. I moved to Portland in 2013 to live car-free and I have done so for over a decade now. I have studied yoga in-depth with Audra Carmine from whom I received certification to teach vinyasa yoga. It is my great honor to be a vessel of growth through teaching yoga. This is a donation-based sliding scale yoga class. Suggested donation is $5-$20. Donations are collected in person at class via online donation or cash.

BIKE SUMMER IS HERE!!!! You voted and the votes are in and the masses wanted to first and foremost ride through the Cornell Tunnels! What does this mean? Climbing and more climbing to a fast and fun bomb to Cornell and then bomb through the tunnels! We are a faster and more adventurous group ride with a no drop mentality and this has been one of our most challenging rides throughout the years! The climbing is worth it! This is a one way trip from Beaverton Transit Center to downtown Portland. We will end at Salmon Springs for a photo! Hope you can make it and bring your legs! The route is roughly 14 miles and 1,400+ feet of elevation. Our boy Stefan is going to lead us along the fun route like he did last year! Is this going to be an annual thing for him? Ask him!! Ever get stuck behind a stopped freight train near SE 8th-ish & Division? Do you find it aggravating when the Bob Stacy Crossing elevators are out of service? Is your bike too heavy to carry up and down the stairs? Well aggravate no longer, because I GOT SOME HACKS FOR YOU! This ride will demonstrate several bike-friendly workarounds for a stopped train. Expect everything from common bike-ways to narrow paths and some (legal, I think) sidewalk riding. There will be some switchback pedestrian walkways which are passable (if you've got the skill) with long cargo bikes. Trailers and tandems may need to step off and walk in a couple places. I will provide commentary throughout this short ride and guidance on how best to navigate the tricky spots!! Short, informative ride, timed for the morning commute! We'll meet at Ladd's Circle and ride to Walker Stadium. The game starts at 7:05 (but it's usually more like 7:15). We'll plan on getting to the stadium at 6:45. It's just a little over 5 miles to the stadium. The ride will be a slow to moderate pace, around 8-10 MPH as it's a gradual uphill the majority of the ride. Obviously this ride doesn’t include tickets to the game. Getting tickets all in the same section can be challenging the closer it is to game day, but you can always choose to get tickets on the berms. As of 5/22/25, Section 203 has a lot of open seats all together which could be fun. After the game we'll ride back to Ladds but you are free to split off and go your own way home.

We'll be exploring cumbias from many different places and cultures, including Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Portland! This is a beginner friendly space. We will go at a party pace. Metalheads: gather at Irving Park on Friday, June 6th for one of the heaviest rides of the year, celebrating the most brutal genre of music - Death Metal! THEME: Death Metal! This ride will be set to a soundtrack of death metal, with tracks from its' origins to the present. Expect a playlist of old school, brutal, technical, progressive, cosmic, cavernous, grinding, slamming, gore-soaked death metal (although probably no deathcore, sorry!). Break out your best battle jacket/vest or other death metal gear for this ride. This is a curated playlist, so synced sound systems are welcome but please refrain from conflicting sounds/bringing your own playlist. ROUTE: Route will be about 14-16 miles with a store stop, taking roughly 2.5 hours in total. Ride will be a loop - you will be back at Irving Park at about 10pm! This will be a social-paced, no-drop ride moving at about 8-12mph. All wheels welcome. While the route won’t be posted beforehand, feel free to ask the ride leader about specifics at Irving Park or the store stop if you have questions. We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. Me again, #1 parade lover 😂I love how many of you came out last week to enjoy the Starlight parade not even really knowing what to expect so were going to run it back this week! Keep Hawthorne not being up in your thoughts. We will be riding from Ladds across Hawthorne bridge and setting up the first place we see that has enough space for us once we hit Naito. If you think we can do better PLEASE let me know and I am happy to shuffle around if theres a better spot! We will be standing once we get there and there isn't really anywhere to lock up your bike but last time we had 0 safety issues and some people locked up to each other instead. After the parade I will ride back to Ladds circle. Bring anything you'd like to eat and drink with you since we probably wont be by anywhere to grab something. Bring a breakfast burrito or sandwich and coffee with! The parade is about 2 hours long and it will be broadcast so there will be commercial breaks aka time when no one is moving for a few minutes at a time so you are mentally prepared for that. Jackfruit, durian, fresh lychees or mangosteen? Depends on what looks good at the fruit market this time of year, which is earlier than last year's ride! We’ll pool our funds ($5 per person) and ride to get some fruit to share, eat in the park and play a fruit-themed party game. Finally, we'll ride to a spot for chè--Vietnamese iced dessert drinks. Fruit costumes encouraged but not required! You may leave the ride early at any time, but we will be riding back to the starting point. Approximately 7 flat miles for the full loop or 4.5 miles from start to iced dessert drink store. Ride crosses major roads including SE Woodstock, Foster, Holgate and Powell, using lights and short stretches of sidewalk where possible. We will regroup after intersections if we are split up as corking not guaranteed. Cross only when safe, we'll wait! While no one will be left behind, kids should be supervised and able to keep up with leisurely paced adults. Bring water, sun protection and $5 cash (exact change) for the fruit fund. In unison with Portland Book Week, we will be visiting independent bookstores in SE Portland. We will meet at Broadway Books at noon, and at a leisurely pace make our way south, ending in Sellwood. This is not a shopping trip (i.e. no money needed), but we will stop at each bookstore for at least 5 minutes.

Experience the joy of high-fiving fellow cyclists and/or random pedestrians while riding your bike! We'll meet up for introductions and high-five practice at 10am. We'll bike east across the river on the Hawthorne Bridge, then split into two groups on the other side. One group will head north on the East Bank Esplanade while the other heads south. Each group will loop back towards the other before long and as we pass each other we'll share high fives and good vibes before rolling on to wherever the day takes us! Once we start rolling the ride shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes. Short n sweet! We'll meet at Tom McCall Waterfront Park just south of the Hawthorne Bridge, near the red brick roundabout where SW Columbia hits the waterfront at Naito Parkway. Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer. ​We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. We aim to impress that this is a safe environment for all; no aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Please review our Corvidae Code of Conduct. Join us for an unforgettable Life Aquatic movie-themed Pedalpalooza ride to celebrate World Oceans Day! This fun and easy 5-8 mile journey will take us through the beautiful Portland waterways, searching for the elusive leopard shark. Riders are encouraged to don their best aquatic attire whilst getting weird with Seu Jorge's Portuguese covers of David Bowie's classics, which provide the original soundtrack to our adventure. The ride culminates at the Blueback Submarine dock, where we’ll take a refreshing dip in the Willamette River to cool off and revel in the joy of community, all while raising awareness for ocean conservation. June's Cargopalooza will be a social meetup beginning at Mt Hood Brewing near the Tilikum Crossing bridge. Begin the evening by "OoOOooing" and "AaAahing" over a variety of cool cargo contraptions. We'll then take a chill, meandering cruise through the inner east side, yap about whether front loaders or long tails are superior, stop for snacks and bevies, and finally find a spot to relax in the grassy lawns of Irving Park. Join us for our Pride Ride! Led by 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ folks and meant for anyone under the unbrella and their allies. We are going to stop at some notable rainbows for photographs, play with some rainbow props (*cough cough* giant rainbow parachute), and roll by some queer businesses. Come experience queer community, and maybe even learn a thing or two (*cough cough* trivia). Ride is an loop and will include a store + clean accessible bathroom stop. This is one of our Outside the Lines rides. It is a weekly, themed, community-centered ride for folks who identify “outside the lines” — those who don't always feel like they belong. Bring your whole self, whether it's silly and social, quiet, or somewhere in between. We practice consent and follow the Shift2Bikes Code of Conduct. All wheels, all bodies, all together.

Pre-full moon naked ride. Two days before the full moon is a large, bright moon that comes up 2 hours before sunset. So instead of rolling on the full moon, we're doing the Waxing Gibbous. Protesting car dominance. And having a good time! Past Tire and crew have been leading full moon rides for about 11 years, now shifting to Waxing Gibbous. Get ready to light up your mat and your mood with playful, energizing Vinyasa flow! This class is all about finding your rhythm as we move through dynamic sequences that link breath with movement. Expect a mix of flowing transitions, pranayama (breath work) and lots of creativity to keep things fresh and fun. Yogis will leave feeling strong and balanced. Cultivate inner awareness while building strength and flexibility. Instructor Bio: Carla Bartow (she/her/hers) I first started practicing yoga as an infant at mommy and me yoga. I became a dedicated practitioner in 2012, while I was living in Upstate New York. I came to vinyasa yoga at that time, when I was training for riding century bike rides. I moved to Portland in 2013 to live car-free and I have done so for over a decade now. I have studied yoga in-depth with Audra Carmine from whom I received certification to teach vinyasa yoga. It is my great honor to be a vessel of growth through teaching yoga. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats and water bottles however we have a few available for community use if needed. This is a donation-based sliding scale yoga class. Suggested donation is $5-$20. Donations are collected in person at class via online donation or cash.
